Chapter Sixteen



She was glad she’d slipped her sweater on before they pulled out of the parking lot. The night was pleasant enough, but the breeze was a bit nippy for this dress. As they left the city behind them, she shivered a little from the chill.

He wasted no time in beckoning her to scoot closer while he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She snuggled there under his arm, smelling his cologne. What was that scent? Obsession? Mania? Polo? Givenchy?

Honeysuckle....

He was firm, and warm, and strong, and handsome, and oh, so....

She rested her head back against his shoulder, closed her eyes and smiled, feeling the wind rushing past her, hearing the sound of his heartbeat, absorbing the warmth of him....
